FREDDIE BENEDICT - Songs We Love

This month we are proud to present vocalist Freddie Benedict.   Freddie is the real deal - a rising star, uncannily reminiscent of Chet Baker, charming, sophisticated, multilingual - incredibly talented and with a natural stage presence.

Hailing from a theatrical family (Pierce Brosnan is his Godfather!) Freddie's speaking voice has brought him many opportunities in animation and as an impressionist, but singing remains the cornerstone of his world.  

His vocal talents have seen him play at some of the most sought after and iconic venues all over the world including Carnegie Hall, Glyndebourne, the Royal Opera House, Ronnie Scott’s, Crazy Coqs, Spice Of Life, The Savoy, The Ritz.  Most recently he appeared at the BBC Proms where he performed the music of Henry Mancini at the Royal Albert Hall. 

Tonight's programme will feature standards from the Great American Songbook, Brazilian classics (highlighting Freddie's remarkable ability to perform in multiple languages) and pop covers.

Freddie will be joined by saxophonist Jessica Bullen.  Active on the UK jazz scene, Jessica has performed at major venues and festivals including Ronnie Scott’s, Pizza Express Jazz Club, the London Jazz Festival, Cork Jazz Festival, Brecon Jazz Festival and Langnau Jazz Nights Festival in Switzerland. Her latest projects include The Sting Sessions and The David Sanborn Sessions.
